Where to dump RV tanks in and near Yosemite
Researched 2026-10-31 from official sources. Rules and seasons change, so check with the park or operator before you go.
Short answer: Inside Yosemite there are no hookups, but the National Park Service runs RV dump stations with fresh water at Upper Pines Campground in Yosemite Valley (all year) and near Wawona Campground (summer only). The dump station near Tuolumne Meadows Campground is closed until further notice for wastewater treatment plant work. Outside the park, the NPS points to dump stations in Lee Vining (for a fee). Rules that matter for RVers
- Sewage only at designated dump stations. Yosemite's regulations say sewage must be disposed of at designated dump stations, and other camp wastewater must go in designated utility drains.
- No sleeping in your RV outside a campsite. Camping or sleeping in vehicles is allowed only in designated campsites. You can't park overnight in a parking lot or along the road.
- Reservations April–October. You need a campground reservation to camp in Yosemite from April through October. Reserve on Recreation.gov.
- No hookups anywhere in the park. No campsite in Yosemite has electrical, water or sewer hookups.
- Generator hours: 7–9 am, noon–2 pm and 5–7 pm only.
- Length limits: In Yosemite Valley, only 8 sites take RVs up to 40 ft or trailers up to 35 ft. Many other sites take RVs up to 35 ft or trailers up to 24 ft. Check the site's limit before you book.

Day-use RV parking
If you're not staying overnight, the NPS suggests parking your RV outside the park and taking YARTS in. Inside Yosemite Valley, larger Class A and B rigs can park at Curry Village parking or the Yosemite Falls parking lot west of Yosemite Valley Lodge. Smaller Class C RVs can use the Yosemite Village day-use lot or the lot west of Yosemite Valley Lodge. RV parking fills by late morning in summer, especially on weekends.
